Variance

A variance is relief that is granted pursuant to the provisions of the zoning ordinance and authorizes a property owner to use their land for something that may not otherwise be allowed because of the location, size, shape, or other attribute of the property.  Only the zoning hearing board may grant or deny a variance to a property owner after holding a public hearing.  The process is governed by the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code.   Hearings are schedule as needed.  Applicants should anticipate attending the Board of Supervisor meeting and the Zoning Hearing.
