Volunteers, a Gift to the Community
Interested in having an impact on your community? East Rockhill Township is seeking residents to submit volunteer applications for Planning Commission, Zoning Hearing Board Alternate and Uniform Construction Code Joint Board of Appeals.
Interested residents of East Rockhill Township are requested to fill out a Volunteer Service Application Form or contact Marianne Morano, Township Manager at MMorano@EastRockhillTownship.org or 215-257-9156 for more information.
- Planning Commission helps manage development in East Rockhill Township. The commission reviews subdivisions and land development plans, then makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors. The Commission has advertised meetings for the first and second Thursday of every month at 7:00pm on an as-needed basis to review submissions to the Township.
- Zoning Hearing Board is a quasi-judicial branch of Township government with respect to the Township’s Zoning Ordinance. The Board meets on an as-needed basis to hear and render decisions regarding zoning matters such as applications for variances and special exceptions from the terms of the Zoning Ordinance, appeals from the decision of the Zoning Officer and any other validity challenges of the Zoning Ordinance. As an alternate, an appointed resident would stand in for Zoning Hearing Board members that might be unable to attend hearings due to a conflict.
- Uniform Construction Code (UCC) Joint Board of Appeal conducts hearings to hear and render decisions for appeals based on the Building Code Official’s interpretation of the UCC and meets on an as-needed basis. East Rockhill Township, West Rockhill Township, Dublin Borough and Silverdale Borough make up the Joint Board of Appeals with appointments from each municipality.
