DEP Information Meeting January 10, 2020
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) held an information meeting to update local elected and appointed officials to provide the status of the Rock Hill Quarry located on North Rockhill Road since the last meeting which convened December 6, 2019.
The Rock Hill Quarry is still under a cease order.
DEP anticipates their response to the Qualitative Geologic Survey report received from Hanson Aggregates being made available to the public by January 17, 2020.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the asbestos sampling have been requested and will be made available once received.
DEP stated that the required minimum 500-ton removal of minerals is currently precluded by DEP’s cessation order.
