The trial for the Rock Hill Quarry proposed asphalt plant use that began on March 2 at the Bucks County Justice Center concluded on March 3, 2020.
The Bucks County Court of Common Pleas Judge Mellon has rendered a verbal decision on East Rockhill Twp., et al. v. Pierson, et al. (2018-02730) determining that the East Rockhill Township Zoning Ordinance prohibits an asphalt plant on the Hanson property in the E- Extraction Zoning District and that the use is allowed in the I1 and I2 Industrial Zoning Districts as a manufacturing use. The Court will enter a permanent injunction as requested by the Township, prohibiting the operation of an asphalt plant within the Extraction District.
