After extensive studies, the intersection of Three Mile Run Road and Park Avenue (Old Bethlehem Pike) did not meet PennDOT requirements for a traffic signal. Instead, a roundabout is recommended as an effective way to slow down traffic and improve safety.
In 2023 roundabout construction was delayed until utility poles could be relocated. The utility work has been completed and work on the roundabout is anticipated to begin Friday, 8/2/2024. Full road closure will be in place until October 7, 2024, weather permitting.
Access to all private driveways and businesses will be maintained. Pennridge School District Transportation will contact impacted students.
While the full road closure remains in effect, Police enforcement for drivers disregarding the posted signs who do not reside on the street or need access to a business will take place.
